Directed by a film-maker who was a family doctor for 20 years, this trilogy aims at showing how a general practitioner’s surgery functions nowadays and what consultations are like. Within the context of an acute crisis in the profession, Du côté des médecins reveals the importance and complexity of the art of being a family doctor, seen through the accounts of six of them, four men and two women. By confiding their difficulties, their doubts and their hopes to their colleague, these speakers launch a fundamental debate: what type of medicine do we need?
